Its Not My Money so Why Not Spend It

For one moment step away from the emotionally driven, headline grabbing reasons for our deficit and think about the problem pragmatically. In a time that has been called the “great recession” you would expect the government to add temporary stimulus to the economy, the key word being temporary. Our government under both parties has expanded government on a structural bias (not debatable with rational logical people). When almost every segment of the private sector is making the difficult decision to tighten their belts in order to survive, our government goes on with raises, hiring and spending like nothing is happening, (why should they care it is not their money) Pelosi keeps her private flights to California, McCain keeps adding staff as if nothing has happened, print more debt and squeeze the tax payer, keep the party going. If you look at our federal government in a period of expansion like 2005 (not great growth but growth none the less, debt fund) the federal government paid 850 people over $100,000 to do their jobs. How much higher would you expect this number to be in 2010 after the great recession? 1000, maybe 2000 NO, not in the land of the purchased vote, try 17,800 for size, 17,800 people making over $100,000 makes you wonder how I can get on that gravy train (1.7 billion dollars). Now, I failed to mention in 2005 most of those 850 well-paying jobs were Doctors. Now they are TSA
…..Wouldn’t it be great if Obama would forgo his salary as a symbolic gesture as many CEO’s do with struggling companies, and only take a paycheck if he balances the budget, maybe all of congress should. Don’t worry about them most are worth millions they don’t need it they are rich.

Fight the good fight

We Don't Pay Enough in Taxes (MY ASS)

Check your math.. rough estimate ,
Take a rough number like $100,000 (I don't want to be consider RICH by the administration)
1. Average Federal tax is =$21,617
2. FICA =$ 7650
3. Michigan State Tax 4%= $4000
4. Sales tax assume they save 12% (I know most people don't, but I don't want to be charged with over inflating the tax estimate) if you dont save it you spend it MI Sales tax rate 6% =$3742
5. Gas tax Michigan has an average of 37.7 cents per gallon in tax. 15,000 miles at 25 miles a gallon equals 600 gallons of gas and another $226 in tax
6. Since in Michigan you have to have a car you can add about $122 to register and keep tabs and plates

For a grand tax total of

$37,357 or about 37.36% of you income goes to the ever so efficient government
